Confusion Dementia. Confusion is the inability to think clearly and logically. It's not uncommon for seniors to experience confusion from time to time. Various factors, such as medication side effects, underlying medical issues, or the natural aging process, can cause it. If you or a loved one is experiencing confusion, it is essential to speak with a healthcare professional to determine the underlying cause and develop a plan to manage it. Some strategies that may help include simplifying routines, creating a calm and structured environment, and engaging in activities that promote mental stimulation. Remember, confusion is not a normal part of aging and should never be ignored.
Home Care Dementia. As a person ages, some of the ability to think logically and clearly may be lost. As a senior with dementia, it can be challenging to remember things and keep track of daily tasks. Therefore, it's essential to have a support system in place to help with medication reminders, appointments, and other important events. Family members and caregivers can be crucial in providing this support and ensuring that the individual with dementia remains safe and well-cared for. It's also essential to engage in activities that promote cognitive function and stimulate the brain, such as puzzles, games, and social activities. With proper care and support, seniors with dementia can enjoy a high quality of life.
Personal Care Dementia. Alzheimer's disease is a progressive, degenerative, and irreversible disease. There are three stages of Alzheimer's: Mild, Moderate, and Severe. Mild Alzheimer's is in the early stage, where a person may show signs of forgetting words and familiar objects. Moderate Alzheimer's, generally speaking, this stage has the most extended duration. This stage may show signs and symptoms like forgetting recent events, past experiences, and background—behavioral and personality changes. Severe Alzheimer's is the final stage of the disease. A person may be unable to communicate with others or respond to their surroundings. Therefore, they need significant help with ADL.
